In a move that will benefit over one crore Central Govt. employees and pensioners, the Union Cabinet on Tuesday hiked Dearness Allowance by 6 percent ( 113 percent total) of their basic pay with effect from January-2015. The decision will benefit 48 lakh govt. employees and 55 lakhs pensioners.
